Cargo to and from Kenya
Our home market, and the gateway the other eleven are served through.
Kenya is where Britex is based and where the shortest journey we run happens. The Port of Mombasa is the busiest container gateway in East Africa and the head of the Northern Corridor, and our offices at Canon Towers on Moi Avenue are minutes from it. Cargo landing here clears, is handled, and moves inland inside one operation rather than being handed between three.
Domestic Kenyan cargo is where tight coordination earns its keep most visibly. Nairobi is roughly 485 km up the highway, with the standard gauge railway and the inland container depots at Embakasi and Naivasha as alternatives to road for part of the leg. Which one a container takes is a cost and timing decision made per shipment, not a fixed rule.

We don’t publish transit times against a route. Distance and corridor are geography; what a specific container takes depends on the border, the season and the vessel. Ask us and we’ll commit to a timing against your actual shipment.
