Shipping & Port Coordination

Documentation and liaison with shipping lines and port operations, keeping paperwork and cargo movements in step.

All services

A container moves when the paperwork says it can. Delivery orders, manifests, vessel schedules, port releases, and the free-time clock all sit with different parties, and cargo waits the moment one of them falls out of step with the others. Very few storage bills are actually caused by cargo. Most are caused by a document.

Britex holds that coordination so the consignee does not have to hold it themselves. We work with shipping lines, their agents, and port operations from vessel arrival through to gate-out, which is what keeps a documentation problem from quietly turning into a demurrage problem.

What port coordination covers

Documentation and liaison with shipping lines and port operations, keeping your cargo's paperwork and movements in step.

Shipping line liaison

Delivery orders, releases, and correspondence handled directly with the line or its agent, in their format and to their timing.

Vessel and cut-off monitoring

Arrivals, berthing, and export cut-offs tracked so cargo is presented when it needs to be, not when it is convenient.

Port documentation

Manifests, releases, and gate documentation prepared and followed through to the point the container actually moves.

Free-time watch

Demurrage and detention monitored against each container, and flagged before the charge starts rather than after.

Export booking coordination

Bookings aligned with loading, haulage, and the cut-off, so an export makes its intended vessel.

One point of contact

The line, the port, and the station coordinated by the same team that is handling your cargo, not by three separate ones.

How coordination runs

  1. 01

    Vessel or booking confirmed

Arrival details or an export booking come in and the timeline is set against the cut-off.

  2. 02

    Documentation prepared

Delivery orders, manifests, and releases assembled and lodged with the line and the port.

  3. 03

    Release obtained

The container is released and scheduled for movement, with free time tracked from that moment.

  4. 04

    Moved to station or port

The box goes to the nominated CFS for handling, or to the terminal for loading, in step with the documents.

Who this is for

Importers and exporters

Cargo owners who would rather not learn the Port of Mombasa's documentation flow themselves.

Shipping lines and agents

A responsive counterpart at the gateway for releases, returns, and station nominations.

Freight forwarders

Local coordination and follow-through when your own team is not at the port.

Regional shippers

Transit cargo that has to clear the gateway cleanly before the corridor leg begins.
